End of Program!

Actually, it is just the beginning. I am very happy to have completed the exercises and feel that your simple program was very beneficial to me. Somethings I was familiar with, some not so. I am glad you will be keeping the lessons up for a little while so that they can be revisited if needed. Some of the components I will use, others, probably not. And as always, the technology will change and adapt as new things come along in the future. But this has definitely set the fire under me to keep up with the current applications! Thank you both for an enjoyable exercise!

Podcasts

Have put podcast feeds on my bloglines account. One from the Library of Congress about music, and another called The ABC Book Reviews which is put out by two public librarians who like to discuss book reviews in YA and adult fiction. I find it is a nice change to listen to the podcasts, rather than simply reading an article. I think, of the directories, I preferred the podcastalley.

YouTube

I remembered this from several years ago and found it again ... you cannot help but laugh when you watch it, so anytime you need a pick-me-up take a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P6UU6m3cqk For some reason, I kept getting the message from blogger "Sorry, we were unable to upload your video" and yes, I was in edit html ?????

Flickr

Really quick and easy way to share photos and create cards.... wish they had this when my children where little!!!! Cool close up of a daisy ...can even see a couple of drops of rain on petals ... can't use image, though, without permission as rights reserved ...

Sandbox

Added a comment under favorite restaurants and then decided to move it to where other comments were, only to discover that comments can't be deleted by your casual contributor!

Wikis

Perfect for sharing great ideas, whether it be from other libraries with innovative ideas or patrons with suggestions. Great way to find out info on just about anything!

Zoho

Made a little booklet in Zoho Writer from one of the many templates. I do see the value in having web based programs which eliminate version issues when sharing, etc. From the Web 2.0 awards list, I made a Twitter account ....I'm feeling inundated with usernames and passwords at this point in my life!

P.S. Note previous post!

Delicious

So now I can keep all my bookmarks in one place and access them from one website, great!
Best of all, can easily get to new sites that interest me others have tagged.

On Bob's acct., I especially liked "Methods for Staying Current and Dealing with Information Overload", by Sarah Houghton-Jan (Librarian in Black)

Bring 'em on !!!!!?!

RSS

Okay, I now have a list of feeds I am following. Nice to be able to add or delete as interests change and have it all in one place. So many choices ...

Seven and a half things

It seems to me the easiest thing to do is set the next goal ... Oh, I want to do this ... I want to have that ... I want to go there ... The hard part is figuring out how and being patient enough to stick with it.

Keeping up with changing technologies can be a challenge. Just when I've figured out the steps, they've changed the rules ! Keeps us young, I suppose.
It's all soooo cool though!
